That's just stupid. I'm not trying to spell an improperly spelled word correctly.
BTW, get a star.

Originally posted by PhlabibitMost people from other countries? Maybe this is just a sweeping generalisation for the lulz, but I'll respond anyway. What I see most, both here and in real life, are people being anti-Bush and anti-current-American-politics (so are most Americans I know), as well as anti-American-patriotism and anti-American-superiority-complex. Of course there are people who think all Americans fall into these categories, but I don't think that's true for most people from other countries (on this site or in real life). Of course you probably won't notice a lot of those who don't, because many of them will never say anything about their view of Americans.
You know what I learned playing chess on this site? I learned that most people from other countries DON'T like Americans, and blame people like me and anyone else from America for things we have no control over.
You know what I learned reading the forums on this site? I learned that those stereotypical Americans really exist. I found it hard to believe (even when not only the media, but also my American brother-in-law talked about them) before I had actually met them in the forums. Luckily I haven't forgotten that most Americans are not like that, but sometimes the forums can make it hard to remember that. Like the non-Americans who aren't anti-American, the Americans who aren't right-wing patriots with a superiority complex are much less visible than those stereotypical Americans. As they don't harp on about being American all the time, most of the time I wouldn't specifically think of them as Americans, I would think of them as people, as it should be. The stereotypical Americans, on the other hand, will never let you forget that they are American, so that's what people remember. I think they hurt the image of the U.S. a lot more than anti-American non-Americans may do.
