I still have mine. I enjoy the world games and winter games every now and then.
I still have my Vic-20 too!
Hours spent playing Jet-pack, AMOK, radar rat-race, skramble, and loads of games where you had to shoot the red block with the green block to the incessant sound of white noise.

-obviously I had to use the switchable cartridge RAM for some of these games, I could get mine to a whopping 19,667 bytes of RAM.

So ... I'm reviving my own thread because I have an amusing addendum to the "I'm getting old" story:

I coach my son's tennis team. Today he had to leave early for a haircut appointment. When practice finished up, I gathered my equipment and waited for *him* to pick *me* up from practice. After years of taking him to, and picking him up from numerous games and practices, the role reversal was a nice twist.

Let's put it this way. You know you're old when:

1. ...fully grown people ask you what a vinyl is.
2. ...cool bands like CCR and BTO are "hu?" to people around you.
3. ...you can get more pleasure from a computer than your right-hand relationship.*
4. ...using your left-hand has a very familiar feeling to it.*
5. ...you need a pair of mirrors to see y ...[text shortened]... pose, but I couldn't think of any more. 😕

I guess I'm just not that old yet. 😏
But, you ARE obviously lonely!

Well, drivers licenses don't work on their own. He'll need a car. Give your son the clunker and go buy a fancy red sportscar. That is what I plan to do to counter my aging.
That'll work 😵

I just absolutely hate having missed that, but I still know what it was, and have seen most of the available footage many times.

my youth:
c-cassettes
phones with a cord and the rotating dialer
no seat belts, no car safety seats
everybody smoking, inside
straycats
soviet union, ddr
star trek
space 1999
the 6 million dollar man
saphire an ...[text shortened]... state of the art
pacman fever!

and for some reason, all the clothes were brown or yellow. 🙂
How about these?

8 track tapes
lava lamps (the originals not the new copies)
victrolas
record players
cloth diapers with diaper pins
gasoline for 10 cents a gallon
telephone party lines
going to a rock concert for five dollars a ticket
going to the movies for a quarter

Your real name must be Methusala because you have to be older than dirt.

You are not officially old until your son (or daughter) has kids of their own. Then, it's just a matter of time before you die from old age. 🙁

REJOICE! You didn't want to live forever did you? 😵
