Ok, I trust the moderators have made the correct decision based on the information they have, but....
...Dutch Defense was an asset to this site, offering a different perspective on various different openings and challenging the status quo at times
From my dealings with him (I was in his clan for a while), he was a little naive - probably due to his age - which may be a contributing factor to his ban
But, unless he has commited a henious crime (and I'm not party to that info), I for one think he should be allowed back on to the site with a final warning
Originally posted by Mad Mac MacMadDon't you think it's possible that he got banned exactly because he committed a "heinious crime". Rules are rules, why should they be any different for members who are allegedly "ok" or "contribute to the site".

He will be back soon anyway, if he isn't already.

When I saw the hidden threads, anger, fear, confusion, pain... people shouting about feedback, shouting about viruses... shouting at DD... I banned him for 14 days with no message.
Next, an admin read the feedback... and probably had to click the link to see not knowing what it was.
GOOD BYE DD.
THE END. You don't know what he did, you don't want to know... trust me, the admins did what they feel they needed to do and you are not in a position to argue that.

I take on board that he has committed an offence, but I believe this was purely down to naiveity rather than malice, from my dealings with DD.
At the end of the day, he's just a kid who gets bullied around this site and tries to stand his ground against the bigger boys - whatever he posted, I can virtually guarantee his motives were aimed at trying to be cool rather than evil.
I'm quite sure he's got the shock of his life getting banned, given he spent so much time in here.
Enough is enough, and I think those who harber anger and hatred for DD should take a step back and judge this objectively

If he continually posted such links, then one could see some justification for banning (nobody likes spam), but a one-off link? A stern warning would have been sufficient.
