I felt initially that maybe this banning of DD was an over reaction as surely he wasn't posting a link to kiddy porn or something like that and he wasn't it was probably worse. It was a totally infantile thing to do and maybe as DD is a child we can perhaps understand that but this chess site was not the appropriate place to post this link if indeed such a place exists anywhere.
There are some things that should not be shown on the internet. Kiddy porn is one such thing and this link by DD was another. I am sorry but there is no place in civilised society for such depravity and when it occurs a stand has to sometimes be taken. Reluctant as I am to see DD go sometime a line must be drawn in the sand and this was one such time.
If he does come back under another name perhaps he will have learnt a salutory lesson and stick to playing chess.
To beat a dead horse yet again, I play at work on my break, and at lunch, if I open a link, like the one being discussed, at work and someone had seen it, I would be fired; No if, and, or (excuse the pun) buts about it. I also have children, and they are often in the room while I play, I wouldn't want them to see that. DD payed for his subscription (more likely his parents), but so did I and alot of other people who follow the rules, and we don't want to subjected to filth. Age is no excuse.

He 'committed' a 'heinous' crime by linking to a site not fit for users of ANY AGE. It was the first time I'd ever seen enough users alert a post enough for it to vanish with no help from a mod.
When I saw the hidden threads, anger, fear, confusion, pain... people shouting about feedback, shouting about viruses... shouting at DD... I banned him for s did what they feel they needed to do and you are not in a position to argue that.
