Or is it just me who thinks that people get their panties too bunched up over this stuff?

Personally I think the ban should be made to stick. I have nothing against DD, but he must have known he would be banned and he did it anyway. Besides, as a kid, it will teach him a lesson that his actions have consequences, which is a useful lesson for any kid to learn. At any rate, being banned from an internet chess site is no big deal anyway.
As for free speech, there are widely-accepted limits to it, and it's more applicable to political states than to privately-run institutions such as this.

You do not have a universal sort of free speech right that cancels out the terms of service which you agreed to.

I find it really odd how often people refuse to hold others responsible for their own behavior, how it's not the fault of people who knowingly broke the rules but instead the *meanies* who enforce the rules are blamed.

IDK about you, but I'd seen porn by 13..I mean at least playboy, kids aren't so innocent, dude.
You really think that a 15 or 16 year old doesn't know about consequences yet? You've got to be kidding me, 8 year olds know about consequences, dude. I'm sure he knew he'd get in trouble, but sometimes you do things that you regret. Sht happens.
Being banned is no big deal...not for you at least, maybe it is for him though, you know? Remember "he's just a kid" so it's not the same situation.
If 13 year old kids are freely roaming the internet, then it's their own damn fault for what they see. 13 year old kids should have enough responsibility at that point in their life to be careful of what random links they click on.

How come some people cant accept decisions when made ? I got a ban a couple of weeks ago, but you never heard about it...why ? Because i took it like a man, and moved on.
War is war, losers ๐
