Some do. A friend of mine has worked in dentist offices for around 15 years, and at one point reported an employer who was sanding off the protective enamel on his patients teeth, during routine procedures.

My dentist was absolutely painless! OK, so half my face was numb for nearly 24 hrs and I bit myself 15 times and that hurt when the shot wore off. At least it didn’t hurt when he was doing his dentist thing. I went once and he wanted to do $600 worth of work. When I told him I didn’t have insurance at the time and asked how much just to pull the tooth he said $20. Too bad his license was suspended for awhile due to insurance fraud and now he’s not accepted by my current dental insurance. I really like they guy…at least as much as one can like a dentist.
