I just saw this thing on Good Morning America about people protesting the proposed illegal immigration laws. I don't know the details of the proposed plan, but as you can probably tell, most of the protesters were Mexican. This one guy even had the balls to say "They treat us like criminals." Well guess what? If you come here illegally, you ARE a criminal. The word illegal means against the law. Running across the border, even if you are doing it for a good reason, is illegal. Learn English, learn how to drive, then apply for a green card.

It is a crime by itself to even think about living in the US.

I don't think it is, but I'm sure they give everyone that applies a fair shot.
"Every year the United States Government issues 50,000 Green Cards through the Diversity Immigrant Visa Program, the Green Card Lottery. Applicants are chosen randomly by a computer-generated drawing."

She had been studying in the US for several years, and when she had finished her studies, she didn't have problems to find jobs and make a living. Her employers confirmed that they needed her and couldn't replace her with an American citizen. However, she didn't have one full-time job, but several part-time jobs (she is a musician, and most orchestras or chamber music groups in the area don't offer full-time jobs). That wasn't good enough. In the end, she had to marry in order to be allowed to stay (they would probably have married anyway, but they had hoped that they wouldn't have to do it for bureaucratic reasons).

And second, trevor, the Irish aren't really a problem. Sure, they are criminals for coming to America illegally, but there are only 40,000 compared to the millions of illegal Mexicans.
