I'm flipping through the channels LAST NIGHT and I pause for a few minutes on an MTV show called Viva La Bam. I didn't really understand what was going on but these young kids spent the entire 5 minutes that I could stomach wrecking stuff and beating on each other. They smashed the windows on some homeless guy's trailer spewing glass all over him in his b ...[text shortened]... The Juxtaposition of these two events really caused me to think that maybe I am out of touch.
But yeah, I know that's not your point. The point you are trying to make is why are the youth so destructive while the 'older folks' are trying to help. I could explain that in about 200 pages...

Thanks! I feel like it sometimes!
And, it's not like we're that old!
I remember my first job. My boss was 40 and I thought he was ancient. One day I was looking at my 23 year old assistant and realized that I was older now than he was then.
Someday we'll be 70 and, if we're lucky we'll still feel young.

Originally posted by Red NightRN, I have given all this careful thought just like I do all my posts. All of ten seconds. Ten minutes for typing and spell checks and what I am recognising here is that the youth are victims of their environments. We can't say that they are any worse than ourselves. They act upon what they see. They see the adults involved in organised killings and wars. They see police beatings on television and then wonder who the bad guys really are. They hear what they conceive to be lies coming from their government about marijuana and other things and suddenly they start wondering if everything is a big lie. It becomes mass confusion. Everything from the tooth fairy to Santa Clause and then the existence God. Almost all the video games, music and television shows promote sex, violence and Drugs . How can we blame the kids when it is the Adults that are selling this junk? Sometimes I wonder if all this is set up to help create the crimes and reckless behavior just to create job security for the hospitals, judges, prisons and war mongers. They are just buying what the adults are selling. Why stand around with our mouths open in disbelief. When in Rome do as the Romans. Those kids are in the Rome we created.
