Yeah I remember that speeding cop http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/england/shropshire/4559173.stm who said he was "familiarising" himself with a new car. I would not have liked to have been around when he was "familiarising" himself with his new firearm as he is also trained in firearms.
There was a guy in a B reg fiesta travelling at 10 mph today at Staples Corner. I have just been informed that that's Sicilian Smaug getting home.

hmm that guy should find a job as a caretaker in a morgue as he seems to be singing "When will I see you again .....".

Poor guy, punished to jail for having a little fun? What crap.
Originally posted by cmsMasterYou know most smash ups on motorways happen because of such a fast speed. There is a reason that stretch of road is 70 mph people could have lost their lives before or there could be a school nearby.

Imagine if a school kid wandered onto the road and the guy was doing 172 mph?
Originally posted by z00tI don't think his going at 70 would have saved a child.

oh yeah, my mistake; there are no victims of speeding motorists. What on earth gave me that idea? 😲
I don't disagree with your general point, but I find your implication that he got jail time for mowing down pedestrians very tabloidesque.
