@gambrel saidAh yes, that would explain it.
This was common in olden times. Being old yes, first mom, then me. It was customary back then, the head of the house, the lady, the children, then infants. By that time the water was so dirty you couldn't tell if the baby was still in it. This is supposedly where the expression, Don't throw the baby out with the bathwater came from. Having crawled out of the bath water mud more than once as an infant I believe it.
@the-gravedigger saidYou shouldn't use them to make cups of tea at all. It's hard to fit the teabag in the little compartment and it just gets really diluted and tastes like soap.
That's true. If you put it on every time you make a cup of tea its going to use a lot of water.
@relentless-red saidTrue, but you can use them to poach a whole salmon.

@great-big-stees saidI thought the lobsters at the tavern were particularly clean (and inclined to cause slight frothing at the mouth).

@drewnogal saidwhen as kids we went to the baths we would spend our bus fare in woolworths buying broken biscuits....happy days
My friend and I used to buy scrumps mid week.
@relentless-red saidThe lobsters are clean because they have been in the dishwasher. The frothing is caused by residual detergent left in the dispenser.

@badradger saidWe spent ours on bags of chips with scraps.

@the-gravedigger saidWrapped in actual newspaper. We were brought up to digest the written word (or at least a little of the ink).

@drewnogal saidNo. If the seals do not like the detergent they will go somewhere else.
Doesn’t that damage the window seals?
@drewnogal saidDid that one on an old mini 850 years ago until one day the rubber dropped off the wipers in mid wipe. 😳
