-Removed-This will depend upon the problem they’re dealing with. Having had a car that let in water, whereby no garage mechanic had the time or interest to figure out why, I decided to take his advice.
Having done a little reading on this I’ve discovered that Isopropyl Alcohol is used in the manufacture of a wide variety household chemicals including detergents and that some can cause crazing to certain types of plastics if used frequently. Washing up liquid isn’t kind to the paintwork either, as is the impact of sun baked, dried bird poop.

Being a lazy swine I have my car valeted when I'm in town.
Last time I picked it up it looked stunning as if it had just come
out of the showroom. I asked the valeter what he had used to get it looking so good.
Tesco value washing up liquid was his reply.
