You can't imagine how glad I am to hear everybody I know of on here who lives in London is accounted for. (murrow-does your brother live in London too? Is he ok?)
I'm still quite shocked, and my thoughts are also with you...
Love,
Angie
My Sympathies and thoughts with all.
I still have friends unaccounted for and in no way am I trying to apologise for the terrorists, but England must have expected this to come sooner or later. By joining a fight against terror, the main strategy of which was bombing innocent civilians, the English government must have known that eventually, there would be retalliation on home soil.
The horror that has been experienced in London today, and in New York in 2001, is a daily occurance for thousands of just as innocent people in Iraq for the past couple of years. I bet we all know where we were when the twin towers were struck. Can you say the same about the day that Fallujah was raised to the ground?
As I said at the start, I in no way condone what happened in London, but I don't think you can fight fire with fire. Further bombing of more innocent villagers in "terrorist" states can only lead to more carnage, both at home and abroad. What we need to do now is not to get angry. Anger leads to hate. Why were these terrorists so angry that they hated Londoners enough to commit these atrocities? Will us getting just as filled with angry hatred so as to condone further bombing of innocents by our governments bring back our loved ones?
Our thoughts shouldn't just be with Londoners tonight. They should be with ALL victims of terror worldwide, whether it be by underground terrorist groups OR governments. Now is the time for empathy, not anger.

Same here. And I appreciate very much that several Londoners kept us updated right from the start. My thoughts are with you.
do German tv stations suck or what? I was actually watching 2 stations in the 1.5 hours I was watching, and neither of them reported anything! How can scrubs and sex and the city be more important than a terrorist attack on London? What is this???
Originally posted by angie88I first read about it in the forum while I was at work (that must have been around 3 pm). I checked Spiegel online, and they already had several articles on this. When I came home (around 5 pm), I checked in on a Norwegian news channel on the radio, and they were talking about nothing else. Maybe you should just forget TV...

If any nation can cope with this outrage then the British definitely can. People in my country (Northern Ireland) have been trying this type of crap for decades and they [the British] have always come through it.
Today, and today only, I would be proud to call myself British.

Many innocent people got killed today and that probably practiced many different faiths and included many differrent nationalities.
Londoners were great today and I am proud to be one of them. The calm manner in which we dealt with the crisis was fantastic. We have been used to IRA threats for years and are very resilient.
What a contrast to yesterday!!!
