No, your constant putting down of people is childish. I simply wanted to remind people that they are no more retarded than you. Out of 20+ nations, you're one of the few to have lost his entire starting assortment of territories. Of course in your case it's "bad luck" while everyone else's problems are due to their own stupidity. Can't be God; the other two Freethinkers seem to be doing remarkably well in this game.

I note that you're not doing so well in NE even though you're still a "Freethinker" and it's basically the same game system. No one kissed yer ass there; tough break.

Plus of course the nerfs didn't help.

Not luck; diplomacy. Something I was unable to use to full effect in the NE game due to being placed at the end of Rob's first blitzekrieg.
Originally posted by rwingett"They" could be near Novgorod's territory for instance. After all, Poland tilted the balance in Italy for the Bavarian and him; maybe he could have done a wee bit more to help them out?
How could they NOT be near his territory?
EDIT: The last Polish army is with its two "allies" in Venice, is it not?
Originally posted by no1marauderI've had almost no dealings with the Poles. I am certainly not going to go to war with the Horde for someone who doesn't even talk to me. The Polish contribution was all Bavaria's thing.

Heather allies have a very low survival rate: Arles, Poland, soon Roum then probably Norway. No finger lifted for any of them. Thank the stars they've been gullible enough to give you whatever you have (though Hungary had 97 Gold province value on turn 6 and now has 98 on turn 13; not exactly shooting through the roof - though it is nice of you to help the Bavarian pull way ahead of you).

I helped Bavaria pull ahead of me because he's my ally and I like to help allies. It makes me happy. Unfortunately there wasn't anything I could do for Arles or Poland and there isn't anything I can do for Roum between Byzantium being closed and your naval superiority. Wait, there is one thing; I can attack overland into Sicily and Venice, those invaders of Roum I don't need a boat to get to! Oh, yeah, I did and am doing that.
Originally posted by AThousandYoungYou're kidding yourself; even if you could have taken Venice (which you could have), King Phil and I would have had sufficient reserves to throw you out after we had regained control of the Adriatric. Plus you never even would have gotten to Venice; the Bavarian wouldn't have been able to hold Istria when you sent the bulk of your army after my Balkan invasions. You always forget the sea.

We'll see what happens if Poland goes home, though for some reason they don't seem to do what's in their best interest. Curious.
EDIT: We both know the Horde wouldn't have attacked Poland without your OK so you didn't "like to help that ally" did you?
Ever consider that your "bad luck" is simply you overestimating the intelligence and persistance of random RHPers? For example, I targetted Byzantium among other reasons because I found tons of indications that silver slayer wasn't going to be good at or focussed on this game. You had those same indications yet relied on him to keep me busy. You also relied on Aragon to keep me under control and that failed you too.
As a counterexample, I never relied on Poland. I suggested we strike when I realized we could take Venice without Poland, whose competence and loyalty were questionable. I never thought that we shouldn't strike until we could hold the city; taking it for even one turn would have hurt you badly.
Why would we have needed to hold Istria? We could have taken it when we needed it. If we could take Venice, we could take Istria and then Venice.
Originally posted by AThousandYoungYour memory sucks. I never relied on the Byzantines to do anything; in fact we were supposed to jointly attack them. You bailed on me when both Arles and Bavaria moved against me and then stabbed me in the back when it looked like I was going to defeat both. Aragon sold me out (including apparently telling you what our fleet orders were) but you have to trust somebody in this game sometimes. Where is your mighty Budan fleet now, BigMouth?

You fools could have taken Venice 5 turns ago but you were too timid and cowardly. I really should be out of the game already. Keep thinking that you didn't need Poland and it's 1000+ CS and 50 HP in the last few turns; anybody who looks at the old turnfiles can see different.
Originally posted by no1marauderYou think I can tell the Horde what to do? If I could I'd have infantry in Asia Minor as we speak. He was pissed off when I told him I'd be exercising my previously negotiated passage rights with my ships in Thessalonia because he values his neutrality so much. He really, really doesn't want to fight you. If I controlled him, you'd be dead.
