It wouldn't be worth any player paying if they never want to play beyond 6 games, play in tournaments, clans or sieges and don't mind seeing the ads.
What subscribers are paying for are these extra services.
What would be unreasonable though, will be non-subscribers moaning about what limitations they do get.

I disagree. There are lots of threads in which non-subs moan about not being able to play tournaments, not being able to play more games, about the ads etc. I guess some people just tend to moan. If they'd subscribe, they'd probably start moaning about non-subs. 😉
It comes down to one simple phrase that every one asks themselves (although probably never quite as clear cut) : "do i want more?"
If the answer is yes, then subscribe - If not, then dont bother - Personally I dont, so have never subscribed.
Non-subs who do want more and complain about wanting more for free annoy me sooo much. It happens so often that I have come to understand why some subs have a problem with us non-sub scum.
I can't afford to subscribe to EVERY internet site (chess or otherwise) that I visit.
I am happy with 3 or 4 games. I do not want tournaments and the rest of it.
The ads are great........😏
We like annoying the anti non-sub-scum subs. 😉
I offered to subscribe under certain conditions but I couldn't.
