Don't feel bad. In Durango, CO we have a population of about 46k and we commonly refer to ourselves as a "city". Likewise, I can assure you the pickings are no better here. Well......actually, there is about a 4 to 1 ratio of single men to single women, so I guess it's not necessarily all that bad if you are female. 😀
As for filthy horn dogs, that's just men. If a man ever acts differently, I'd be careful. Probably not right in the head. 😉
Originally posted by RookRAKI have been wondering whether it was a mistake to say anything. I wasn't quite prepared for the ignorant reactions, although I should probably have expected them. Still, if some people have understood what I was saying, I think it was worth it, not so much for my own sake, but for other asexual people they might meet.
Had to give you a wreck on this one Nordlys. I'm surprised how much patience you have shown trying to get people to understand something they're unfamiliar with.
Perhaps everyone should read a little slower.

I'm assuming the "ignorant reactions" means me, so here we go...while I didn't mean to be "ignorant" (where I suppose the proper word to use would have been "insensitive", after rereading Shavvy's post and then going to that ridiculous website (I never realized that the word "sexual" could both be a noun and be pluralized, bully for me...) I ...[text shortened]... onight and getting balls deep.
For Christ's sake. Never thought I'd offend an "asexual".
The rarer asexual subset of this group would have made fine social mediators, spiritualists if you will. With no sexual pressures to impede their judgement an asexual would fill the role of an objective leader quite well or perhaps on the other end of the scale, a counselor to the tribes spiritual needs.
Sex often clouds our judgement and this social structure certainly has advantages if you can get past your own bigotry.

Does this also explain why the guys in those cave drawings always look so camp?
