Well, I left a cold, dark country with a lot of restrictions to come to a hot and sunny country with little to no restrictions. Miserable in NI or happy in Colombia, doesn't take a genius to work out which is better, will just have to deal with whatever changes they have coming back and if that means staying in Colombia a few months more then so be it.

Late yesterday afternoon, I went out for a beer, and got there early enough to catch a group of maskless knobbly-kneed white-haired Dutchmen sat at the bar slurping one for the road having spent the afternoon getting sloshed. I turned up with my mask on having complied with the protocols for using taxis. In unison, they were immediately quite hostile in a slurring disinhibited way asking: "Are you sick?" "What's the matter with you?" "Are you ill with something?" Quite the rowdy chorus. I think the Dutch have coined a new word for people like them: "coronajerks".

Could be an import issue I suppose, but my builder said that his supplier told him it was the local plaster manufacturers closing their plants due to lockdown. Either way it’s going to cause massive issues in the construction industry which the government wants to keep going, for obvious reasons.

For UK residents, going on holiday at this time is illegal. So yes you made your choice to break the law and you will have deal with the consequences. Enjoy Columbia and be grateful would be my advice.
