Has anybody ever seen a peacock in real life. The loud call they make always gives me a bit of a laugh cause it sounds like they are saying "help, help".

Yes - living in the UK I've seen (and heard) them loads of times. You mostly see them when you visit a country house or castle where they can always be found wandering the grounds. I find their calls really annoying, but the males are great to look at when they spread their tail feathers, though when the tail is folded up, they drag it around on the ground behind them and it looks dirty and disheveled. I hear they can be very destructive and hard to get rid of if you have them in your garden.
