One of the reasons I decided to move back to Ireland after 13 years in the States, was an incident that occurred in a pub in Boston. I was speaking to several people shortly after the beginning of the "Shock and Awe" attack on Baghdad, basically making the point that it was an illegal war according to international law (which the US had accepted and been a part of creating) and was told not to talk about it, basically because I would be heard and that I would then suffer repercussions. This incident has stuck in my mind as clearly as if it had happened yesterday - I always thought it was because I am a highly sceptical person when it comes to the ol' conspiracy theories and it just seemed so outlandish coming from someone who claimed to be a firm believer in the "land of the free, and home of the brave." It seems they may have been right, and with that - so much for land of the free, and so much for the home of the brave.

Isn't that the truth. Al quida already won. We lost our country to right wing religious bigots. I don't suppose there is any legal case he could pursue?

I rec'd your post because most people seem to want to bury their heads in the sand and just ignore what the government is doing. It takes courage to stand up for what you believe in.

However, when you write a post as serious as that it would be good to have the full url. Can you give us the full url for that post? People shouldn't have to search for the info.

What on earth makes you believe this story? I mean really, besides wanting to find something else to blame on your country, why do you believe everything you read from these bush-hating bloggers? Because you hate Bush you believe any crap about him or America, right?

They're taking the Liberty Bell with them, too. It's all part of the "vast right wing conspiracy"! ©

So what a great story (if only it were true) to bash Bush over the head with. Gee, I wonder why msnbc or cnn are not running with it? I wonder why Pelosi isn't calling for an investigation. I can't even find anything on Murphy's web sites that talk of this. Just left wing blogs...How about some proof sasquatch. Only an America-hater would believe every lie they read about Bush or America. It makes it so easy for you to hate, but it makes you and your blind rhp supporting ilk look pathetic.

if it were true I would think it needed to be investigated. If the investigation discovered he was put on a watch list because of a speech (and that was the ONLY reason) i think it would be completely wrong and unamerican. But thousands of lies about Bush and/or America are told every day by the tens of thousands that hate Bush. I would hope that people would not just believe them because they want to believe them.
