The OP title is satirical.
A group of regular forum users incessantly post about the decline of the site and virtually every aspect of it. They blame the malaise on certain groups of users who tend to fall into a specific subset; namely their detractors. Suzianne is one of the most vocal of the complainers; apparently the forums are overrun, manipulated and in terminal decay.
I agree with you, RHP is an excellent chess website.
In most other online chess sites forums are not so relevant as it's on RHP..
If i want to discuss something or have a chat surely I won't search it on a chess site.
Besides that, forums reflect what users post, so........
For what i can see the thread rapidly degenerated about the use of the word "Jesus", go figure how interesting they make threads.
Then again, for the little i saw, in forums there's the usual dribble that there was more than ten years ago.
People bantering, attacking one or another, lamenting the use of moderation and blah blah blah.
Yeah, maybe some historic users are gone, but that's just the nature of the web, people come and go, deal with it.

so................rhp is dying yes or not? and why?
just curious, i missed many years......
Last time it was raised by someone wanting to divert conversation to his club. But even then, he said the General Forum was dying, not the entire site.
But, the clan system may not last much longer because of those wishing to subjugate it to their own will and their own vision. And the forums have the exact same problem.
So you tell me. I say that it's "not dead yet", but with no treatment, the disease will continue to fester and spread and those who are here providing the "life support" will eventually give up, and then it's only a matter of time.

Difficult to say. Probably a childhood thing where using 'the Lord's name in vain' was comparable to swearing, and usually resulted in me being told off. (Even by my non Christian parents).
Over time, for better or worse, society generally eases its "rules".
Originally posted by RavelloI've said many times during my time here, the forums, and especially the GF, are like a pub (bar) where some nights one crowd is in and other night a live band is in. Times change, people change, the nature of bars doesn't.
