I tried to do it all myself, but I had a girl from work do the vocals for me.
If I had done them, you would be jamming a pencil in your eye by now.

You'll have the pleasure soon enough!

I think it was, think it was extended. It's kind of hard to find all the real rules considering 2 threads and me forgetting just who's really in charge.

Since the rules have been relaxed, I entered another: A MIDI composition I wrote some time ago. Just had to spruce it up a bit.

Nice one too, the only negative comment is the 'violin' part had too much vibrato to be called real, of course we know it was a synth, sounded ok though.
There is also an entry that looks to be in the wrong format and not associated with any of the folders, Conception of a midday larva in AIFF format, the player won't play it and it also looks to be not compressed, at 65 megabytes, take it back, compress it down to an MP3 and re-enter it in one of the category folders. Here is a brief explanation of AIFF:

Yep, although it is not actually a synth in the traditional sense, but sampled notes from an actual violin. The problem is that it then gets played rather robotically by the computer without any of the feeling and texture of a real violin. No amount of fiddling with the midi parameters will fix that.. Now if only I could play the violin...

Muff,

"The present day composer refuses to die" who was Zappa refering to? (enough trivia)

Anyway, I followed your directions. I then realized that my name is not attached anywhere to the song. In your folder for instrumental selections, I uploaded "Conceptual Inrush of a Midday Larvae" my RHP name is "Gregsflat". This is an original song that I have scored for soprano sax, guitar(myself), bass, drums and piano. Except there is on piano on this performance. This is copyrighted with me as composer and the other musicians as co-arrangers. So this can also be considered for best band competition. The band was known as "Excalibur". I might be sending in an original arrangement and band performance of a cover tune, if I can figure out how to do this a second time.

So with this selection, i would like to compete for "Best Band", "Best ComPoser", Best Instrumental tune, "Best LIVE performance", "Best Musician".

Hey, the Zappa tour had the bass player from the song "um bop- the Hansens" playing with Dweazil.

Commercial radio sucks, but I just sent another entry called "Smooth" a Carlos Santana cover.

I would like it to be considered in these catagories: dance, cover, band performance (Swing Shift) I'm on guitar and vocals.

Gregsflat

You should be able to get better dynamics and such with aftertouch, you can assign parameters like vibrato and such to the aftertouch control.

Edgar Varese, I own 'Ameriques' which I occasionally play my 7 month old son. My partner generally turns pale and leaves the room, but Jack loves it.

Well. I've done my worst and uploaded a couple of covers. I nearly didn't bother because it is quite obvious who will win this section. You gotta try though huh? 🙂
