I fixed the ID tags. Anyone want me to upload into a new folder?

Here's how it looks on my machine:

Edgar Varese used a theramin in the 1920's which would qualify probably as the first synthesiser.
It's like a wand that changes pitch, you hear it in B sci-fi movies from the 1950's.

I'm not sure you can count a theramin as a synth. Synths modify waveforms by using oscillators, filters and multiple tone sources, theramins are just radio-field tone generators. Whilst you can alter the pitch and modulation it's not through synthesis, but field interruption.

That said, Varese was clearly a country mile from the music of his day. It is a shame more people have not heard of him, or cannot abide his stuff.

You should teach science, you explained that better than I ever understood it.

Okay so I went to the pub tonight and got wasted, not totally wasted but 8 pints wasted.

My first instinct when I returned home was to try and see how well I could play the piece I learned for the music comp. I could not play it all!! What I started playing was an improvised drunken, crappy [missing chords] 12 bar blues bemoaning the fact that there are too many good participants in this competition. It involves foul language and directly being mouthy towards talented musicians.

Why am I telling you this?

Well because I will never post it tomorrow when I am sober but may post it now. If you wanna hear it then ante up; otherwise, allow me to sleep and sober up.

It's your call!

Haven't been on the forums in a long time but seeing as there's a music competition taking place 😉

Just uploaded a mix of two songs that i was messing around with this morning
It takes the beat from the Gotan Project - Diferente and the guitar+vocals from Henry Nilsson - Coconut, which was made famous in the Reservoir Dogs OST..

Hope y'all enjoy.

Well said... are you an amateur radio enthusiast (ham) or just into electronics as they relate to music? Good stuff!

I better brush up on my electric skills, I have something I could upload too... it's probably good for a laugh or two

Pretty basic stuff actually..

Just a laptop with some mp3s, Sony Soundforge to chop up the bits I liked from the songs and then Sonic Foundry Acid Pro 4.0 to put the chopped bits into a sequence. Used a few of the effects in Sound Forge too..
