Originally posted by sonhouseSame here it takes me alot of time to write it down.. but at end of it.. I have my music written down forever.. I make music pretty much the same way.. start out with a few notes and chords and use them to improvise a samll piece.. but the good thing about writting it down is when I wake up tomorrow I know what to play.. after the spliffs the brain forgets stuff.. so its best for me to write it down.. I improvised loads of stuff.. which i wish I'd written down.. cos now its gone forever.
The problem with me is I can write it out but its so slow, I am
not a natural writer of notes, I compose whats in my head in real time
on an instrument, piano, guitar, mandolin, dulcimer, banjo, whatever.
And when I get comfortable with a new piece, I record it. So the
recording is my only record. I submitted a piano suite I call the
Irish suite, three ...[text shortened]... bmit some of that stuff to Red House Records,
a company I like so its already copywrited.

Well i'd just like to say something about the RHP photo's now.. I could be wrong.. but lets see if anyone else agrees with me..
On the RHP photos somebody has sent in a picture from a catalog.. ie they sent in a pic of model.. see if you can guess which pic I'm thinking about.. then i'll post the one I think has been professionally photo taken.

To Centernut (and others to whom it may apply):
Firstly: I cannot read or write music (although I understand how it works so I could probably pick through it given a couple of months) and yet I have written over 100 songs. Scoring is just a medium for passing music from one person to another. There are other mediums; demonstration, recordings etc. Being able to read and write music doesn't make you a musician, it just makes you able to pass your music on to others in a particular format.
Secondly: Scoring is no proof of ownership; if I could score music I could score someone else's music just as well as my own.
Thridly: If people submit pieces which are not composed by their own hand, they are only doing themselves an injustice. This is meant to be a fun competition, if people want to cheat, go right ahead; if they are exposed they shall know no end of ridicule.
Fourthly: If you send me scores with your submissions, I shall delete them, they really are unneccessary.

I was just busy writing a score. I was going with Scotland 12 - England 0.
The drama....oooohhhhh the drama....
I've got 2 covers, 3 own songs and a spoken word piece on a CD now.
The problem is that the files have been burned as .cda files and I can only play it in a proper CD player. I can't play them on my computer and I can't convert them to MP3.
Even worse, I can't zip them (they only zip the name or something).
How can I get my music into normal formats???
HELP
