Sorry, been busy lately and wanted to wait until I had some clear time to look at these.
Here're my comments...
3. Playing Boule. Technically fine, but doesn't work compositionally for me. The man is very centrally placed, and (a big thing for me), I can't see the target, so the photo lacks a bit of context.
4. Chronology: Nice idea, but I find that the white balance seems very warm.
5. Far Away Fields / Daydreams in Motion: I'd prefer if the cyclist was coming into shot. Also, I think the poster seems as grey and dull as the city. Might work to pop the colours in the poster a bit, to contrast with it's city surroundings.
6. Dance: A virtually unshootable shot, but moment well captured. Its practically unavoidable that the shot is going to underexpose, and so the noise from lightening really hurts the shot. This is emphasized in the sepia conversion. The red eyes of the girls in the background is easily fixed.
8. Drip: I really like the way the drip catches the light . It's a pity that nothing seems totally in focus.
9. Ghosts of the Future in Ancient Rome: Doesn't really work for me, as I find it confusing, and my eyes just kept jumping around, trying to focus on something. I needed the title to try to help me figure out the "why?". I'd have put this one down as a snapshot that didn't work. Somebody with obviously a lot more imagination than me worked out an interesting story for the shot, which gives it purpose. 🙂
10. Hurly: Perfect capture of a moment. Really makes me smile in a "FOOTBALL IN THE GROIN!" manner.
12. Merry-Go-Round: Great shot. Love the lights, and excellent panning technique.
16. Sea Dragon (part deux): Nice shot. Seen this one before. Love the fact that the people are standing still.
