Originally posted by RagnorakI was thinking of wedding receptions, where it doesn' seem too much of a disturbance to have someone walking around. But after your scenario I'm thinking of crashing into cocktail tables, so I see your point about having a zoom lens. 🙂
Yup, I've been looking at that one too, but have pretty much decided against it for now, as I don't fancy only having my legs for zooming while shooting a wedding. I have images in my mind of holding the camera to my eye while walking backwards and falling down steps. Not ideal when you're supposed to be capturing a beautiful day when you're actually adding a farcical element to it. 🙂

Originally posted by RagnorakI would, but probably only photos that I find artistically of value. Those are mostly photos taken by professionals, so I can't afford them. Also, pictures that have emotional value to me but taken by someone else could go up.
Just out of interest; of the keen photographers here, who would put somebody elses photos on your wall?

Originally posted by RagnorakI bought two photographs on Røst (one of the Lofoten islands) when I had a concert there, spending all the money I got for the concert. 🙂 This one is now hanging over my piano: http://www.rostbryggehotell.no/Customers/rostbryggehotell/images//Bilder%20galleriet/Skarveleia_i_solnedgang.jpg (the colours are much nicer in the original)

This one is hanging in my guest room, although it won't look really nice there until I have redecorated the room: http://www.rostbryggehotell.no/Customers/rostbryggehotell/images//Bilder%20galleriet/Krykkjer_2.jpg

Where was that taken? It looks a lot like a structure on top of Glyder Fach in Snowdonia, e.g.,

"I can't narrow it down much further than Ireland at the moment, but I'll let you know if it comes to mind again. It's definitely not the structure on the picture though, the terrain was quite flat where my picture is taken."

If someone can't make it in time, but still wants to vote, let me know, and I might extend the deadline a little. But not much, as I want to get this over with before I leave for my Christmas holidays (i.e. next Thursday).
