The point is that your way of delivering the message is highly unlikely to produce any positive results (i.e. convincing any meat-eaters to stop eating meat or to eat less meat than before), and if you really care about the animals, that should be what counts. If you want to convince anyone of your point of view, you have to work with them, not against them, as difficult as that can be sometimes.
