What does his salary have to do with it? It's between him and his employer. If Manchester United decide he's become a liability because of this one thing then they will decide, not you. Whatever you say about him, his salary is none of your business.
High salaries should only be paid to employees in any capacity who are professional and up to the job.
If you are not professional then you are not up to the job and if you are not up to the job you don't deserve the salary. Simple really!

What they should stop is people hounding the referee and trying to force them into making decisions. All of players who run up and encircle the officials should be given an instant yellow. It's hard not to re-act badly when you stamp on someone by accident and then 3 opposing players corner the ref, screaming at him to book you 😞

Well maybe? And maybe the balls would have got a yellow card.
... but then pushing Ronaldo AND throwing a bottle at the Portugal bench was surely unprofessional!
What is wrong with these refs? Are they really that stupid?
It's also now been shown to be an accidental kick in the bollox.
edit; exactly as the previous post says.

I mean come on, it would get my goat!
Originally posted by asromacalcioHe clearly deliberately stepped on Carvalho. I don't think he was aiming at his nuts, but it's still a definite straight red card.
OK, the effect is much the same but I just don't think he meant it, which should make a huge difference to the reaction he gets. For a start he couldn't even see where he was standing, and there was no downward force in the action, it was a simple case of putting his foot down to stand on. Somebody mentioned that if they behaved like that in their job t ...[text shortened]... very day for six months. He'll suffer enough, but for my money most of it will be unfair.
On most people's book, but the English. (Marca, L'Equipe, CNN, etc)

You're the stupid one if you defend that wasn't a red card.

What about Figo's headbutt? I suppose you'll defend that, claim that the other player faked injury or make some other lame excuse. What about that as a bad example of sportsmanship?

Edit: I'm not accusing Rooney of 'being' a cheat or blaming refs. All players may lose their temper once in a while, but they should pay the price. Blaming the ref or Ronaldo is ridiculous and so is crucifying Rooney. But it was his fault and that should have been the end of it.
Edit2: And you're the ones striking at the 'stupid' refs or the 'cheating' Ronaldo. It's annoying and borderline xenophobic. WTF, get a life and blame yourselves. When we'll lose I won't come here blaming the opposition.
