And from what I saw on Saturday, there's not a single real man in all of Portugal. For all the puffed-up machismo in Latin countries, I didn't see a single real man playing for Portugal. All the diving, all the faking, all the rolling around on the pitch like they'd just been shot - the Portuguese players are cowards and if Portuguese men feel their eleven deserved the win on Saturday, then they're cowards too.

Here's what I was saying about the Sun's xenophobia creeping in. Keep it going macho boy.

Wayne Rooney did not even deserve a yellow card.

Not only did Rooney not even earn a yellow card, the referee made a classic error, one mediocre referees make all the time. He did not call the first foul ...[text shortened]...

You Portuguese fans - your men were exposed for what they are - cowards.
And it takes an American to talk sense like that. We tried, but all we got was the sour grapes treatment. Well said, everything spot on, I only hope the British media and fans see it that way, or this is a story which will run and run.

I'm not sure you can buy 'The Sun' in Philadelphia.

I find it amazing that Portugal celebrated their advancing after the match. They survived not by being the better side, but by stalling, diving, faking injuries and fouls, and failing to press what should have been a decisive advantage, content to throw their lot with penalties when a side of men would have tried to score.
We were the one's stalling and content to go to penalties? Oh dear... 🙄

Where did we fake injuries? Where did we stall? Where did we commit lots of fouls (Only 3 in the first hald)? Where did we not try to score?

Had nothing better to do than spout your overtly xenophobic generalizations about Portuguese men, had you?

It creeps in in most opinions you read on these forums. Do you agree with his xenophobia about Portuguese (and Latin) people?

It's old hat by now, but note that Scolari was very complimentary about England.

That is the truth of the matter.
Well said.

No, I don't, admittedly I praised the post but this more for its slant on the football, but I wouldn't attribute what he thinks to a cheap British publication you probably can't buy where he lives.

So am I. Unlike sasquatch of Portuguese people or who for saying he was spot on in everything.

And even if it wasn't so, I would never generalize about British people like he did about us (or the Sun does, for that matter). It's really sad some of you can't separate what happens on the pitch with reality.

I'm truly disappointed at how seemingly intelligent people fall for the nationalistic side of football. Maybe Vladamir was right after all, for all I've argued with him about it.

You can't buy it where I live and neither other places I've lived and yet I know about them.

You're better off without, although I'd say that people with an IQ of over 17 are immune to it. This guy is clearly brighter than that.

Is he? I know you are, that's why I'm surprised. How can you praise a post full of xenophobic comments? How can Dr. Strangelove do, too?

It went too far, I don't live for football, it's just fun and pleasure for me. This is just going too far and I'm truly gutted for hearing such comments. I truly am.
