What's all this, the Usuegi and Ikko are conspiring against us all, Oh no, run!, run!, run for your lives.
I think someone has seen the all powerful honshu alliance and now speaks with a forked tongue to see what alliances fray at the edges.
I trust my suzerain No1. I trust his judgement in who he allies with.
I am just a commoner, I cannot rule. I cannot annex enough land to support a major army. My suzerain takes care of all the worries and lets me get on with what I'm good at, conquest, murder, torture and bespoke carvings. I needn't go on, I think you get the message.
His long term aim is to rule the whole of Japan, I hope to have helped him to bring peace to the land I love.
We shall meet soon enough.
Lord Oda.

Listen, allies! There can only be one shogun and I want to be it! Now, you can stay allied with me and expand your realms--although without hope of becoming shogun yourselves--or rebel against me and pay the consequences! Got that? Good! Just remember--coming in after first place in a race doesn't make you a loser! Have a nice day!
Any other deceit you'd care to address?

I'll have you know that I am currently arranging a fine peice of war art, using wood and string I have rearranged the lifeless corpses of the Hatano into a scene I have entitled 'Oda comes to town'. Inbetwixt being sick my closest aides approved and gave me extra portions of the medicine they tell me helps with my fits of rage.

Originally posted by StarrmanIt was a bold ploy, all things considered. Had it worked, it would have opened your capital up completely. (It is his capital, people; I am merely borrowing it for the time being). Whatever Otomo and Ito lack in common sense, they make up for in courage!
Oh deary me, I fear there shall be prayers for the fallen in Otomo & Ito tonight:
Originally posted by Bosse de NageI certainly wasn't a winner! I didn't feel I could trust my "allies" there, so I had to go for the draw. Believe me, though, I was going for victory for quite a long time. I only decided to give it up when I realized I had no backup I felt I could rely on because I misjudged who to side with. You can't win alone, and I picked the wrong people.
Although not part of the victory coalition, ATY finished fifth in MD. It sounds like you'd describe him as a loser.
If Shimazu ends up with more provinces than me than good on him - I think he mentioned that this was his first game so he'll undoubtedly be learning as much as I am - in my second game.
Being in the winners' list doesn't matter to me half as much as it evidently matters to some here. I just hope my actions in these games don't inadvertantly screw up things for my allies. To that end, I'm very grateful to the likes of ATY and Robb (in another game) who are patiently teaching me things as we go.
I have no regrets in any decision in this game - although I wish now, with the benefit of hindsight/ a bit of experience, I'd acted sooner.
The Ikko Ikki/Uesugi coalition vastly outnumbers everyone else in money and land and may well end up winning. Good for them if they do. I'm sure I'll learn a lot more being an active member of a losing resistance than a more passive member in a huge winning-is-all-but-guarenteed behemoth.
Forming and breaking alliances is inevitable in these games and personally, I try to not be an absolute snake in the grass.
I'm not playing for any other reason than to enjoy the game. And to look after the wives of fallen lords, of course!

l am playing this for fun, in this game l am doing well, in others l am only doing so so. Yet it is the playing that makes it worthwhile.

Otomo's a freshwater pirate searching for a new poopdeck.
Ito's crotch is chafing from sitting on the fence.
Ryuzoji's ambitions are the daydreams of an old man reflected in a bowl of watery gruel.
(My sunny disposition makes me a poor goader. I'm sure you can do a lot better than that!)
