Some say if you eat bananas or wear dark clothing they will swarm you. Happened back several years ago at a funeral and I eat a banana every day, and happened to be wearing a navy blue suit one of the rare occasions I wear one anymore. People around me were beating them off me, but a few of them managed to stick me several times.
At night they usually stick to eating flying bugs, like mosquitoes.
