No, you are uneducated... Tell me all the security programs you are running, including the version #. Your IP address is already available! DUMMY! 😲
I'm running Zone Alarm Pro 5.5.094. I'm completely stealthed, because I know my way around computers. My IP is available, but because it's not a fixed IP, there is no real way to get a certain lock. DUMMY!

Hopscotch asked for what type of software you were using, the settings and other details so he could replicate your situation. They would not magically allow him to set your computer on fire.

You're paranoid and you think you know much more about computers than you actually do.

PS. If you can get a hold of my IP address feel free to post it here. Bet you can't.

Nothing to see here. Move along folks.

Arrakis is receiving a message saying "invalid tcp segment in an existing tcp connection". It just means that the firewall is receiving packets with unexpected sequence numbers. Packets are probably getting corrupted somewhere along the line.

He asked me not to make the screen capture public.

So I have to ask the obvious question... WHY am I receiving packets from RHP other than cookies? And WHY are these packets, which have the effect of shutting down my internet access to stop them, being sent to me?

Look deeper. The answer is there.

When you browse the internet, you are using network technology called TCP/IP. This protocol uses small packets of data to transer the information. Hundreds of packets are downloaded to your machine each time you load a webpage.

The sequence numbers on some of your packets from RHP are getting corrupted some where along the way.

The answer is all there on the web, if you really wanted to find out what was happening.

I wasn't browsing the internet when I received the message from my anti-spyware that RHP had sent a bad packet. I was BOOTING THE COMPUTER! Yup, didn't even touch the keyboard or the mouse. Soon as I turned the computer on a program on my computer tried to contact RHP!

You can't tell me that's normal.

If you looked at the screen capture, you'd notice that the direction of the packet was inbound.

You haven't installed any of the move notifier apps have you?

Also, I reckon you're doing more damage to RHP by not releasing the picture of your firewall and accusing it of something, which you know next to nothing about, than releasing the pic and letting people see for themselves. I can upload it somewhere if you want.

There's a user forum at zonelabs. Why not ask there?

You know, I've been seeing threads like these ever since they started this new practice. I haven't said anything in any of them so far, but I'm going to speak my humble bit this time. In regards to this thread;

Speaking as a hotelier, we are guests in this digital house. If any client at my inn gave me guff like some of the people who have spoken on this issue, they'd be getting tossed out. You money buys you the privelege of occupation/utilization of the facility. It does NOT purchase you the job of management. Further more, not all business decisions can nor will be preferable to the client. Any business man of any sense knows he hast to avoid that which he is unwilling to be accountable for. This relates to the subject, in that in like situation with my business I would be very hesitant to explain why I made an executive decision the way I did. It is simply a bad practice, as nothing constructive comes of it, but it does tend to produce headaches and debates.

In summary, I will tell you what I tell my clients who think they can run my hotel better than I. "We run in a competitive market. If you are so greatly dissatisfied with our operation, there are many others for you to choose from." In my particular case, I will even hand the person(s) a list of hotels in the area and their phone numbers, and offer to relate information as to the quality and services of any given one. Quite frankly, I think the admins. foolish for wiping your bums as much as they do. This site is supposed to be a place for fun and friendly competition.

P.S. calling each other dumb over understanding of comp. tech. has got to be the most rediculous thing I have ever heard of. I'm all about "geekdom", but that is absurd.

Another prime example of why people with your lack chess understanding shoudn't be allowed to analyse games that they don't understand in the first place ...

How about asking Russ for your money back, and start playing games such as minesweeper which are immensely easier to understand ??
