Its just a different name and different theme for the same site. RHP can be very harsh on your eyes due to the lots of stark white. TFC is much easier on the eyes. Chessatwork is black and white and looks a little less like a chess website (apart from the chess board) Redhotchess is for people who either can't access the redhotpawn site due to firewall restrictions or who may find the pawn part offensive in some way.

I disagree. Black on white is far easier on the eye. Which is why newspapers still mostly publish BoW - there's a lot of readability research gone into this decision. I hate colours in or underneath text. Try yellow on white, or red on black, now that's a real eye sore.

Whatever. Everybody is different, and that's why it is great to have the different themes available.

Also, looking at rhp isn't really like reading a newspaper. Looking at white on screen is actually looking at white light. Would you stare at your kitchen light for long?

One more question, how is the pawn offensive to some?

I find TFC much easier on the eyes than RHP. If I'd use RHP, I would probably have to reduce the monitor's brightness and contrast. As Ragnorak says, everybody is different. There are even people who get diagnosed as dyslexic because they have big trouble reading black text on a white background, but if they get coloured glasses, they can read just fine.

I can no longer visit dark sites for any period of time. My vision actually starts to go with imprinted bright lines in my sight. I never had this problem before I spend a few months staring at RHP's white screen for a couple of hours a day. Now I have to squint when I follow a link to RHP.

Ditto... not even a high percentage of matches. That's why I suspect that the REAL tool being used at RHP is an invasion program that monitors every program you run on your computer!

I've had a terrible time losing my internet connection because my anti-spyware (the most advanced in the world) will drop the internet connection at RHP after I move in 5 games! 😠 Russ denied such a program, but I have physical proof (screen captures) of MANY such intrusions by RHP.

You should try Privacy Guardian. Run that every night and you wont need anything else.

Tinfoil hat time.

RHP doesn't do that.

For one it wouldn't work on anyone who doesn't use a browser that's full of security holes. Nothing gets onto my computer without me knowing about it.

For another if they were doing it do you really think we'd have seen only a handful of bannings?

Had to edit my original post, and apparently you replied as I was editing.

Cookies are not spyware. I would be willing to bet any amount of money that your super advanced anti-spyware is picking up cookies sent by RHP so it knows who you are (and can keep you logged in).
