I think Buddha said something like that too. Why doesn't Atheist pick on that fat guy. Doesn't China Run the world too?
Edit: Well, obviously this was not the original discussion. It was just a sidenote I made, but for some reason the discussion got stuck there. 😞

I'm afraid you're living in a part of the world where things are slightly out of sync with the rest of the world. Even if you were to get a fact right, I would have to check it for myself before I believe you. You see, you've revealed to all scandinavians how little you really know, and why should I think you've got the facts about the rest of this matter right?
I don't.

Why don't you move to the spirituality section...let's get back on point...how about it richfeet?
Really, religion has a big hand in wars

Then all the other kids gather around and say wow he is tough he just beat up some little dude that can't fight. Only that little dude is determined and keeps coming back for more.
Muslim fanatics from Saudi Arabia....

I was asking in General as I perceive the Atheists. You are claiming that you are being forced to take a Holiday. What holiday is that? Who is forcing you. Is someone holding a shotgun to your face? If you own a company you can work if you want or not right? If you don't own a company and get a day off most employers will pay you for that day off won't they? You can spend that day any way you choose. I just can't see your point. Why should an Atheist get any special holidays if all you do is complain about some one else getting a day off. What exactly does the Atheists religion worship that gives them a right to call it a religion rather than a cult? I am asking you these questions because I really can't see what the Atheists are complaining about. Please tell me why you think the spirituality forum gives you a justifiable reason to bash and cause conflict with religion in a World that already has enough conflict. It just seems rather hypocritical and petty to me is all.
I insulted believers? Read my posts again. I'm not insulting believers. I say whatever religion you choose to follow it's fine by me. Adding to that, no religion should be held above any other by the state. Thus, christian holidays forced on everyone is a bad thing, just as any other religious holiday. Atheists don't have special holidays, so it doesn't matt ...[text shortened]... ll religious groups but the christians. That's all. Sorry if I didn't make that clear.

Once they realised the idiocy of that plan, they made it to be about throwing a dictator they helped to his position down while making sure they'd stop the nuclear weapons development Saddam never had going.
So why didn't we attack the Country of Saudi Arabia who has Muslim Fanatics there instead of Iraq who wasn't responsible for 911?
We've all heard this so many times it actually makes me physically tired that the questions keep arising. It's all so obvious.
The only country left for the great US army to attack is Iran. Then the BUS will have access to all the natural resources in the whole middle-east, no doubt leaving the people there poor and helpless once the oil is no longer in great demand. It's fortunate (one might almost say a little too fortunate) for Bush and company that this idiot Ahmadinejad was elected president of Iran.

You don't like that idea much do you? I can see that it probably wouldn't be a bad idea to do the latter but in other threads I have noticed your complaints. Seems Hypocritical to me. Actually I am not talking for or against religion so I really don't see any need to move. I am talking about conflict and Wars and why and how they get started.
Nope. Not by definition. You could be atheist and spiritual, but not define the origin of spirituality the same way god-believers do. Again, I feel if we're going to talk about these things, the spirituality forum is the way to go.
Originally posted by cashthetrashYou're still missing the point. One religion is favourised in a secular society making the whole state somewhat a joke.

If I'm a muslim, my kids can still only be free from school during the christian holidays even if I can choose to take my vacations on muslim holidays. If I'm jew it's the same. I'm saying that no holidays should be imposed on people from the state, but rather leave that as a personal matter. If I need to take my holiday in the middle of October and I want my kids to celebrate with me, I'll just take them from school during that time. They can easily catch up again after the holidays. This would be the most fair and workable system I can think of.
Strip all politics from religious influence and allow people to practice their religion as personal matters (possibly in public). No problem then. Most swedish folks will choose not to take their vacations on christian holidays, and those whom have a religion will be able to have their specific holidays celebrated.

Oh, and because I was banned over my sexual fantasy thread last week I decided to join that all grownups clan after all. You're right though. I don't feel too good about that. It was a personal defeat for sure. Although, it turned out to be a lot of fun, I wish people weren't such tight arses and could discuss things in public.
