You would prefer to believe a ridiculous account from one man who toured these lands for a short while rather than people who actually live here now. Is it because you desperately need to find fault with nations that aren't full of shallow individuals whose only way of solving a problem is to shoot it?

Oh wow, did someone seriously make a claim that UK submarines even held a candle to US submarines? That person is living in the past, probably around 70 years ago. I won't comment on the surface fleet, but the US' Submarines have the highest trained personel of any Sub force in the world. That's even before you get into the 'currently' vastly superior boats, or rather before you get into equipment. Also looking at their record makes it clear that even as far back as WWII nobody really matched up.
As for what they(the US Navy) do, I take it you've all completely forgot about that Tsunami...
