I couldn't find a definitive declaration that the SAS is better than the SEALS written by any "Yank", so if we must keep debating, be more direct in your serach request. I have nothing but respect for any and all British forces, but to make "blanket" statements just because ONE person said so, is not real data. That being said, your succesful beach landings in Argentina was inpart due to advance warnings by US Air Force AWAC planes and American intelligence, plus the fact that the Argentines were no Germans at Normandy. No disrespect intended....glad you're on our side, even it you prove your SAS is better than our SEALS...

Enjoyπ
Do you want me to find an article on the SAS Vs Seals written by a Yank too??π

That's OK. Maybe I'm not an Euro-elitist like you seem to be, but time is on my side. In 20 years you will remember our conversation....
Elitist is hardly the proper title for me, but you go ahead and say that. I don't really care what you think anymore.
I'm afraid I won't be around in twenty years. Not with boners like you jumping about, firing missiles all over the place like there was some sort of warish gang bang going on. Next thing I know, Sweden has been taken over by the muslims according to some wacked US president whom then decides to invade. And with my luck I'll end up with an american missile up my arse (no doubt fired by you). π
No, wait! I forgot. We don't have any natural resources that could possibly interest the business of the united states.
Pfffuiiiii... π I was actually worried there for a while.

Originally posted by zeeblebotThe point is to not have any religious holidays forced on people whom do not share that religion. The school system and swedish laws shouldn't say that muslims can't have this or that week off to celebrate a religious holiday, but then say that everyone (christians and non-christians alike) must be free to celebrate the christian holidays. That would make christianity a favourised religion in a country where religion must be clearly separated from the state, and never regarded by the state as more important than any other.
if you removed it from the holiday calendar, and most of the teachers took a personal day off that day anyway, then what? ....
If then a lot of people choose to have their vacation so it matches the christian holidays because their christians, then fine. No problem. Who cares?

I apologise for not having your incredible intellect to forsee these kinds of problems. π

would they open the school if 3 teachers showed up? ...
Originally posted by zeeblebotFirst of all, like any other job not everyone will be able to take vacation on the same days. Why should christians be privileged to have a special holiday and no other religious group? The answer is they shouldn't! They'll have to accept that not all of them may get time off at the special holidays like all the other religious groups. Only then is it a fair system.

As for teacher shortage, there's no such thing. There are, I bet, a lot of substitute teachers just waiting to get in there and show their worth. Not all people in Sweden are christians you know? Most people are atheists and then there's a whole bunch of christians and finally a lot of other groups. Believe me, we won't have any problem finding teachers for the religious holidays.

"Atheism in Sweden
Several studies have found Sweden to be one of the most secular countries in the world. According to Davie (1999), 85% of Swedes do not believe in God [10]. In the most recent (2005) Eurostat "Eurobarometer" survey for the EU's European Commission [11], 23% of Swedish citizens responded that "they believe there is a God", whereas 53% answered that "they believe there is some sort of spirit or life force" and 23% that "they do not believe there is any sort of spirit, God, or life force". This, according to the survey, would make Swedes the third least religious people in the 25-member European Union, after Estonia and the Czech Republic."
