Regarding the clasp in the back on bras, has anyone ever considered putting the clasp in front, where it would be more convenient for everyone?

(and not necessarily made of metal -- I'm thinking of a loop and button clasp)
This is quite a lot more common now than it used to be back in the day (like when I first started wearing them).

And there was also somewhat of a stigma attached (nice girls don't wear bras with the clasp in front! What a hussy...).

On a side note, I remember summers here in Arizona, girls quickly learned how to get the danged bra off without removing their shirts first.

Oh, thank you for that.

I didn't grow up with any sisters or even close female cousins because we moved around so much, and that's not something I would have asked my late Mom about.

And most front clasps are plastic now, a one-point system. Meaning if you broke the clasp getting it off, you were done, you weren't getting that bra back on. If a single hook in the old system broke, you could still keep it together with the others.

And then there was explaining to Mom how you broke the clasp in the first place.

"thoughts that keep me awake at night

hmmm?

Did I turn on the a/c for the morning

Did I fill the kettle for my morning cuppa

Did I lock the back door

Did I make a move on RHP to stop a time out

Damn, did I let the dog back in

I must have done; only my best friend would give me sloppy kisses like that
For me it's:

Is the front door really locked?*
Are the knobs for the stove burners really set to "off"?
And did I really leave my eyeglasses in their usual parking spot?

All of that because I am often thinking of other things at the same time I am checking those things, which sometimes leaves me in a state of doubt, which might result in a few more passes of checking just to make sure.
_____
* As for the other door: There's an ancient pile of old cans against the kitchen door, plus it has a deadlock on it, so someone breaking in would make a lot of noise and might not even be able to open that door all the way.

Huh. I was thinking along Tang-dynasty lines re: the loop and button.

Yes, I neglected to add "and non", though it was implied.

Ahhhh, youth and those first ventures into the unknown.
