yes indeed dear readers,
i predict that the forces of doom and darkness, and the most fortunate team in this years international soccer festival, will be sent out of the tournament by portugal.
they should have drawn their first 2 games and lost to sweden, and the borefest last sunday could have gone to penalties - only matched by the swiss - ukraine borefest as worst game of the tournament.
having visited ingerlund on business last week, i can report that the st.georges cross flag is flying from every outpost, car and window. such a shame their in for a disappointment.
watching the sweden game in a bournemouth hotel, btw bournemouth is a soulless place, reminded me of all the times thistle went to ibrox, outnumbered 9 to 1, but we still outsing them, especially after the king of kings larsson scored!
the best wee nation in the world, of course, were excluded from this years festival thanks in large part for the german hired hand not being sacked after the netherlands fiasco and being kept for the first 3 games. notwithstanding the usual expressions of international solidarity with new countries, it has given us a chance to assess our group opponents for the next euro campaign.
france are difficult to judge as half, if not more, will not be around by the time we get them. the italians are pure class and we have experience of playing them in the last qualifiers where we acquited ourselves well. i think however, that ukraine are beatable from our point of view, and so we have a fighting chance to get to austria and switzerland probaly via the play-offs.
anyways for today;
they're going home
they're going home
they're going
ingerlunds going home!!
p.s. bring back the home nations
