I never needed medication - just somebody who could help me see things from a different side. It was as if he held a mirror so that I could see myself and where I was going wrong.

One simply can not reason with a man whose views are not reasonable.

As you were.

The Ghost prefers to shake hands.

you weren't his patient with 10 thumbs down. In 'real' life they kill themselves which is why sleep cannot reason with him.

When I left my last job (after 13 years of service) I still only shook the hands of my colleagues. Some of them I think were angling for hugs.

Must be a British thing. 😏

With some people, depressions come and go. If we can understand the reasons why they occur, sometimes we can learn to live with them because we know they will pass. A friend of mine, she too a psychiatrist, has explained this to me, and I remind myself every time I have to - this too shall pass.

you cannot cure with big pharma drugs the people you have abused.

Please come in. Make yourself comfortable, here on this couch, and tell me whatever comes into your head when I say, "So, caesar, do you like your parents?"
To tell you quite honestly, I don't feel comfortable answering that with all these other people in your office!
