Found this great player, Molly Tuttle 'White Freightliner Blues'
She explains what she is playing after singing this song. Impressive flat picking! Doc would be pleased.

Here she is with Allison De Groot (playing banjo to Molly's guitar

Here she is with Patrick Gunning playing a Swedish tune called Bas-pellas Eriks Brudpolska

And here with Joe K Walsh and John Mailander
playing a french Canadian fiddle tune:

She has an amazing range! Flatpicking virtuoso!

Sings also!

Cold Rain and Snow:

This is her own band, the Molly Tuttle band

Here is where she got that version:

Peter Rowan with Tony Rice and a couple of cute girls on mandolin and bass:

I'm totes not into this genre of music - sort of a skateboarder grunge, like Smashing Pumpkins--whom I'm sure influenced this band. But this song. From the old school psychedelic presentation to the unique vocals and style, it's worth a watch/listen.

edit: the breakdown at 1:35 has some nifty keyboard sound.

I'll leave y'all with this one. It was a game changer for me about 15 years ago... well it was on a cd that helped forever change my life's 'playlist.'

If there are any audiophiles out there, you might want to put on some headphones. What a voice Camille Miller has.

Now I'm out of control. Sorry.

This one probably belongs in the "Say Something Nice About America" thread in debates. Because the world should thank America for its kick-ass rock.

Tom, you said you 'hate' Dylan and Joni Mitchell which you are totally entitled to your opinion but is there ANY folk music you like? Who would you put up here to show any appreciation for music from the common folk? The ones who don't need stadium electronics to show off their music, just a guitar or mandolin or fiddle and such, instrumentals or vocals?

Rhiannon Giddens on Austin City Limits!

Louisiana Man:

Also in Austin:

Bonnie Raitt and Austin's own Ruthie Foster
singing John Prine's "Angel from Montomery"

This is one of the best versions of that song I ever heard
