That is quite strange to find a local player, especially one who knows me. I can narrow down who you might be, but your rating is a bit lower then most of the leicester players that I know, unless you havent powered it right up to its full yet.

A rating is just a number, based on effort in part.

We'll find out in time I guess. I've been here a while.

#10— The never-fail tactic……………………..hang up the phone.

PS: Sometimes THEY hang up.
#4 sucks. It could be improved by asking the person on the other end to perform sexual services for you without trying to teach a lesson to the telemarketer.

#8 could be improved by simply not picking up the phone again.

#9 just sucks.

The rest are brilliant 😀

Ooh those are cool. Excellent insulation. You don't even need the vacuum as the air inside cannot circulate well and is poor at non convective heat transfer.

The vacuum should help with noise though.

My friend has been living in their new house for about three years now.

I was recently talking to him, and he told me about a telemarketer who had called when his family had just moved in.

The telemarketer called and asked for a certain Mr. Smith. My friend, who was not a Smith, told the telemarketer that he had reached the wrong number, and was about to hang up when the telemarketer asked him where Mr.Smith could be reached. My friend then went to his phone book and gave the telemarketer a number.

What number was it? He just gave me the number, so I called it myself.

"Northshore Cemetery. How may I help you?"

Telemarketers not only never leave messages on answering machines, they also hang up on you if you ask them to remove your number from their call list, -- and then they'll call you again! I do not answer any call whose name or number I don't recognize on my call display, so essentially my phone has been hijacked and cannot be used for incoming calls, only for outgoing calls. It's quite possible I've lost money because of lost business opportunities.
I'm also completely fed up with always getting a dead end voice mail whenever I call a business. It seems as though many businesses do not want you to phone them. For example, calling the local MPP is useless because he or his staff never answer the phone. I don't think he wants people to vote for him. He got elected twice now, so why should he care about listening to his constituents? So their office has stopped answering the phone, probably because of telemarketers.
Registering on the Direct Marketing Association "do not call list" does no good at all. Complaining to the government's CRTC is useless, because they will hang up on you too.
Why don't people get those calls on cell phones? It doesn't matter whether or not your number is listed because these calls are automatically generated electronically by a computer going through every conceivable number in existence, so surely you would get these calls. (I got a call tonight from a telemarketer on the other side of the world.) In addition, businesses don't get these calls either. So how are they stopped? Complaints to your MP are useless because he's not interested in listening to the public, and I long ago concluded that none of then do, so I long ago stopped voting in elections. Complaints to police (because I think these calls are an offence under the Criminal Code's harassment section) are useless. Complaints to the phone company are useless.
However, I think $100 per month (which is what I'd need) is far too much to pay for a cell phone, especially for a specified limited amount of use. I would be willing to pay $30-40, but no more. Perhaps, because I now have email, even though there's a huge problem with spam in spite of all the filters, and even though computers rebel against me frequently for no explainable reason, I should dispense with having a phone entirely, except that one relative needs to call me.
I would simply turn off the ringer permanently if it were not for that. I think that's what my wife did after she left me, except back then you couldn't do that, but you could unplug the phone entirely. There was also no call display then, so this was the only way for her to avoid me calling her to see my daughter. I was of the opinion that her phone was used only for outgoing calls, and not only couldn't I reach her, but no one could. That's how she got custody, and I have no doubt that a lawyer advised her to do that. So now I haven't seen my daughter in 20 years because court orders are meaningless.
I've seen the room in an office building in a nearby city that is full of computers, wall to wall, all generating phone calls by running down all the numbers from 1 to infinity. I figure it takes them about 3 months to run through all the possible phone numbers in the world, which is how long it is between receiving calls from a specific telemarketer. So I still wonder why people don't get those calls on their cell phones. How can that be explained?
A complaint I have against cell phones is that they sound like garbage. When I get a call from someone on a cell phone, the sound quality is so terrible that it's sometimes difficult to make out what they're saying and that has nothing to do with background noise, although that's another issue too.
