I think I have a pretty good idea. The format of the RHP forums make it so that only the most recent threads posted on are shown. Everything on the first page is fresh material, and anything that may be on the 2nd page back is old news.

That's just my personal opinion, I've found that it's much easier to pay attention to the threads on the first page. But looking back on it there are many threads that end unjustified, ones that are interesting but seemingly nobody cares about them very much any more.

Has anyone else noticed this trend? I know... I should be posting this in the "website ideas" category, and I might. I'm not complaining about the quality of the forums, I think they're great. But I was also thinking that maybe there's a more ideal format for the RHP threads, so that this issue can be resolved.

P.S. Wouldn't it be ironic if nobody posted on this thread and just let it sink out of the first page? It would be funny... but not funny enough to deter me from the subject. Looking forward to some insight from you other redhotpawners!

Dear Artplayer,
I think there has to be a cut off some where.
As soon as anyone updates a thread, with a comment it gets to the top.
Some threads go on for a long time because they are interesting and I think that is right. This way the more interesting- or popular ones get to the frount page and noticed and the ones people have lost interest in fade away.
Such is life!!
🙂🙂

You ruined it. You were supposed to let this drop off the end of the list. It would have been much funnier...

I agree. But I see fresh threads from a day or two ago on the second page, and they just get left to the wind. Not necessarily because they aren't interesting, but because people aren't keen to go looking for them. I know, it's not a big deal, just a silly forum. But still. Maybe there could be a way to display more at a time. If people don't want to maintain them that's fine, it's not like it's a competition or anything, I just think a lot of legitimate interests are being smothered by the headline news. There should be like an index or something, like a redhotpawn google maybe. Or just a bigger first page, maybe expanded to show 10x as many. There's a bunch of interesting options that I think could work.

In fact, the thread needn't be interesting at all, but when it falls into the hands of some of the people here, it evolves some life on its own comments on comments making a big heap. And since the active posters commented they look up the new comments and add freely.

So you can make a popular thread by raisiing the interest of a commentator.

I'm tired, honestly that's not what I need right now. I know you're probably just trying to make a joke, but save it for someone who actually appreciates it. I wasn't aiming to attract wise guys/rude posters when I started this thread, so take it somewhere else please.
