Of course not. Why should the minutes and hours of the past eleven weeks of our online lives invested in this spirituality forum matter in the least to any us? It sounds like your analysis is that topics that stimulate the most interest are those that invite argumentation and trolling, where "interest" is measured by the amount of argumentation and trolling. That's a tautological conclusion.

There might be some distortion of these data. Can you republish them once you have omitted instances of the poster of the OP copy pasting his or her own OP, or indeed other copy pasted material, over and over and over again throughout the threads in question. This might make quite a difference to the post totals for some threads.

Quantity != Quality

Also, threads like "pray through Jesus" got a lot of posts, but were only of interest to a fervent few who actually care about debating JW doctrine.

Good points, SG. Perhaps that thread should be transferred to the final Rank 1) group. Thanks.

Some threads generate interest but we choose to stay out of the conversation because it is of such high quality that we feel we might bring it down a notch by interfering, or because we feel other posters have already said more eloquently what we would want to say.

Maybe you should do a count of thumbs up per thread?
Also, in your post counts, exclude all posts by the writer of the OP as originator participation hardly constitutes 'stimulated interest'.
Next, read through the threads to see if they actually stayed on topic as it might not be the thread titles topic that stimulated interest but rather something that came up later in the thread.

I must also note that most of us only bother with the top 10-20 threads, so its all largely a matter of chance anyway.

My analysis is that there are high post counts on these threads: Thread 157887, Thread 157304, Thread 157102, Thread 157678. This may be because the topics on these threads stimulated interest.

I have never given any post a thumbs down. I occasionally give a post a thumbs up. I take a tiny bit of [until now secret] pride when I give a thumbs up to a post that expresses something that I disagree with but does so very well or for its entertainment value.

Taking a look at your posts in this forum and the General Forum, I'd say there may be quite a lot of people who actively dislike you and who often don't like your posts, and so you get quite a few thumbs down as a result of this, I reckon. A thumbs down is a signal of disapproval, right?
