I don't know if you are saying this (maybe you are and its possibly true) but a lowly rated player using an engine would tend to match up virtually 100% in many games and this would be an overwhelming pointer to abuse but a player rated 2350 OTB and circa 2500 to 2600 at correspondance chess would actually have no desire or need to use an engine.
I think if I can convince him to join giving his real name will not be a problem. I think he plays in 4NCL for either Guildford or Barbican.

then what? Still he is absolutely no match to any decent chess engines and yet he claims to play same o9r even better moves as engines would.
We are not debating how good he is here. The concern I voiced which was the purpose of this thread is that he is being put off joining because of potential cheating allegations. A player rated 2350 OTB is unlikely to need to cheat to be in the top 10 on this site!
