well that wasn't nice. 😀

I used to do the same thing with these guys, and usually got back english, a 'knowing' smiley implying they understood but no verbal answer, or even googlarized machine translation. your approach neatly rules out the smiley response.

What does "utro" mean? "Utter", i.e., "complete"?

Google Translate says it means "cheating". I like the translation of what follows too 😀

It does, but only in the sense of cheating on a partner.

It's the same in Danish. You were looking for 'snyder' or 'bedrager', which also translates to cheater, but is more game specific.

(I'm assuming the Norwegian word is similar to the Danish one).

It isn't. In Norwegian, game-related cheating is "juksing", and the person who does it is a juksende drittsekk. ("Bedrager" is the same in Norwegian, but I don't think it would be commonly used in connection with chess.)

It doubt he does that! Doesn't look the type to have a partner 🙄

I guess the rest of 'my' Norwegian was OK though 🙂

Ah, I just saw your post. juksende drittsekk. That sounds even better 😀
