Veselin Topalov: "I want the match to continue" · Oct 1, 11:46 AM
Earlier today Veselin Topalov expressed his desire the match to continue in the Russian newspaper Sport Report.
“There will be no game today, but I hope the match goes on soon,” he said. “The negotiations are lead by my manager, Mr. Silvio Danailov. I am trying to concentrate for my next game, which hopefully will be soon. I personally do not want to put any obstacles on the continuation of the match.”
......Asked about his mood Topalov replied: “Absolutely normal. I am preparing for the next game. I strongly hope the match would continue. There won’t be any hindrances on my part”......
I don't see any wrong doing on Topalov's part.
Surely just the number of times that he's leaving the table must be considered an unreasonable distraction for Topalov. If he isn't sick, then what can be a reasonable excuse? There are other places to go to think in private, surely?
Chess is very much a physical game, with mental endurance being very physically dependent (look at the relative youth of most champions) and so if the bladder is failing one of these players, they must either resign or suffer, as an injured athlete in any other contest would.
Let's ignore people who think they have knowledge about general or more specialized chess matters! Let them vegetate in there own small environment!? These people, and they know it themselves need professionel help! It is a shame that these excellent website is spoiled by these undeveloped contributors.
The match is back on!
"Tomorrow, 2 October 2006, at 15.00, the 6th Game of the World Chess Championship Match Topalov-Kramnik with the score 3:2 in favour of Kramnik, will take place."
Edit: Kramnik's team should issue a press release like:
"Topalov, insisting on Kramnik being a more powerful player, has only agreed to continue on if Kramnik "spots him" a free game."

It just says Kirsan has decided this. Not that Kramnik has agreed.
Conceivably, Kramnik could be on a plane right now.
& FIDE happy to hand over another meaningless paper title to its puppet.
Originally posted by TommyCTrue, we can only hope he got Kramnik to agree before officially declaring the match on. Should be interesting either way.

Will either player come out with a different/altered game plan?
ie: They have no doubt been doing some refining of their respective games over the past few days.
Originally posted by tmetzlerThat is not my hope. My hope is that Kramnik is on a plane, and this debacle will bury FIDE once and for all. Better no title than a meaningless one, which if Topalov wins from 3-'2' this will have become once again.
