I found this thread really useful. I followed the tips given by RahimK and others and reached 1400 in a few months after joining RHP.
But once I started to play higher rated players I dropped back.
I found that many players set their open invite limits lower than their rating. That's for sure helps you reach 1400. Choose opponents whom you can beat easily. Play with them regularly and your rating will skyrocket😀

Wasting people will not make you better. After a point that's it.
Play people +/- 200 point of your rating. Once in a while if you need a confindence boost beat someone 300-400 point lower.
Always have a few games vs ppl higher then you.
So if you play 6 games, I saw 2 with +200, 2 even, 2 with -200.
