I'm not defending or promting anyone nor anything but perhaps 'they' only play here and not at a FIDE recognised cc site. I don't know the lady involved but I think it fair to assume that she exceeds the standard, and minimum rate, for which a first rung ladies title is awarded at of about 2000, certainly on ICCF, of course there are other requirements also but the fact she has far exceeded this minimum, in rate alone ( even allowing for slight variations of rate site to site ), for a number of years must give more credibility...as regard titles also, there are many cc IM's, SM's and even GM's that have never had an OTB elo, equally so there are many 2000 plus ( or in the vacinity of ) OTB players that hold senior cc titles. Not a lot of investigation would confirm this, I'm absolutely sure. All the above being said, I can't understand what having a title, or not, has to do with the top rate on RHP, then again I'm not fully versed with the all arguments here and merely passing through with an idle observation.
What's weird about skeeter is that (s)he played on this site for years at around 2100-2200 and then suddenly shot up to 2400.
Granted, 200 points isn't very much over that amount of time, but at that level I imagine it's quite difficult to achieve.
You hover about 2100/2200 for a year or too getting used to the new
class you are being forced to play (here of course you can still meet more than
your faiir share of 1600-1800 players - much more than you would OTB).
Suddenly you are forced to play in 2000+ tournaments. Big difference.
There is a lot of wound licking required and those slightly dodgy gambits
that score well v the 1800-1900 have to be ditched.
Overall your game needs polished up in all departments to progress further.
But it's not an uncommon leap because to get 2000 you have to be a fairly
reasonable player with a good foundation to build on.
(some never get past 2200 OTB mostly due to sheer laziness..ahem..let's move on).
The dodgy leaps on here are 1400 for two/three years then 2000 in a matter of
months. It can be done but if chummy has used a box then the attention
they have just attracted to themselves gets them caught.
Then you have to consider how many players in the last two years graded
above Skeets that have been banned. Without these bannings Skeeter would
still be still be in the lower top 20 or 30. (so she's lucky) 😉
All the players on the front page get a regular going over.
Feel sorry for TigerKing about all this support for Skeeter but he/she has
never posted in the main forums so they are an unknown to us.
