@sonhouse saidSTOP SAYING WHAT I SAY UNLESS you can quote me to do that without a quote, is a LIE, and you do that all of the stinking time, stop lying!

@sonhouse saidProof, not one more thing if you put the proper spin on it to make it mean what you want it to.

@KellyJay saidPROOF? You want proof when science is still in kindergarten? Come back in a couple hundred years of continued scientific development.
Proof, not one more thing if you put the proper spin on it to make it mean what you want it to.
The link I posted just shows one or two pieces along the road.
I made ZERO claims of proof. I made claims about the advances science is showing in the search for life origins.
@sonhouse saidYou said if I saw proof from science, I said show me proof; by proof, I don't mean something, that you have to tell me what it means for it to mean anything at all. This is just you attempting to control both sides of a discussion so you don't have to answer anything put to you. I think we can part ways here now. You can claim whatever you want, and you will anyway.

@KellyJay saidI don't claim a damn thing, I just said we MIGHT know with another couple hundred years of scientific development.

That is ALL I said. I never said I KNOW Goddidit.
I said the Christian god is totally man made and a real god would not put mankind and all life on the planet in such jeopardy as it is now with greed keeping the fossil fires burning till all the ice melts which seems to me a sign we were not meant to shepherd this jewel of a planet.
Which puts a moot point on life origins.
@sonhouse saidYou always tell me my motivation behind almost everything I say; that is a claim. I'd agree if all you ever said was that we might know more later. Telling me God is made up is a claim, and your predictions about that claim are also made up. You telling me what a real God would do as if you knew and using that to dismiss the God of the Bible is a claim. It doesn't suit you, so it isn't true.

@KellyJay saidI can't prove anything, it is just what I think. I just think a real god would not let things get this bad ecology wise that we are doing to this planet. We have already started a new round of mass extinctions, maybe polar bears are next.

@sonhouse saidYou have no idea what a real God would do, you only know you would not allow things to progress you that you dislike, not the same thing.

@KellyJay saidIt is easy to see what an alleged god DIDN'T do, like call us out for screwing up the planet. I would assume if a god made all the animals and plants and fish and birds and such it would have been pissed to see humans screwing it up at a rate a hundred times faster than normal climate change and the like.
You have no idea what a real God would do, you only know you would not allow things to progress you that you dislike, not the same thing.
With that in mind it seems entirely possible said god thinks we are a failed experiment and will go the way of the dodo leaving Earth to recover from the greed of mankind and maybe in another 100 million years a new intelligence shows up with more respect for our jewel of a planet.
@sonhouse saidThere are two narratives: God is in charge, or He is not, and from those two, everything else flows. If bad things are going on and God is in charge, He is allowing it for some reason; his reasoning is not like ours since He transcends time, space, and the material world. If there is no God, it is all just the way it is, then I'm not sure why you are crying over a screwed-up planet. How could it be any other way?

Either way, just because it isn't going to your liking doesn't alter the correct answer to which narrative is right.
@KellyJay saidYou mean humans totally screwing up Earth cannot be corrected by your infinite god?

@sonhouse saidWhat God had in mind at the start is still what He is working on now. I am quite sure that is more important that our creature comforts, and He does stop us, He just gives us room to repent first.

@KellyJay saidI don't see this stoppage, what I see is the next mass extinction of life going on as we speak, like Polar bears as just one example, they are dying out.
