In game messaging. How do I look at the previous message that was sent when I receive a message???

With the many games I am having and conversations it is difficult to know what the player is talking about without seeing the previous message he sent in game.

Hit "chat log" on the right and you will see all the comments made during that game.

Thanks,
I found it on the bottom right hand side in "Game Messaging", sometimes it is just too easy, only different.

When you hit "reply", you can also pop up a "chat log", just like before, from the top left of the new message box. ("Chat Log" button.)

Far easier to read and scroll through.

Thanks,
I will try that way also might be easier than the bottom right where one would have to scroll.

Just hit analyse board and a grey box appeared on the middle of the screen and had to close open to a new tap. Not the first time I've noticed that.

Also, on the main site the arrows to move the pieces on analyse board just about fit into the screen but on the beta site it's way below the bottom of the screen. Would need to scroll down move the arrow, scroll back up again... Would take forever to run through a game.

I just noticed that too [not had the grey-box, but the arrows thing]
The beta site needs a good 'ol scroll to get to the forward/backward arrows - by which time most of the board is obscured, and I don't know if anyone else still gets it - but scrolling on mobile from a game page is a bit jerky for me. Difficult to reliably reproduce, but seems that when releasing your finger for the first time - bam, it sends you to the very bottom of the page. After that (not sure if it's because the whole page has loaded by then), seems to work properly.

Forum pages side note - I've noticed that thumbing is not immediately reflected on beta. On the main site the thumb count changes immediately - on beta you need to refresh the page manually.

In-game chats look good to me though (I mainly play on desktop - but have looked at messages on both desktop and mobile).

I expected some resistance to this change - and I'm sure it will come on release - but pleased to see none so far.

This recently was updated to fix an issue on both the current production site and the beta - a thumb up/down would clear any PNG/FENs in the thumbed forum post. This works on dev, but not in the beta, which is somewhat unusual. A bit of a head scratcher why right now.

edit : Ok, this is now fixed. The vote was visually being applied to another post in the thread, but actually upvoting/downvoting the correct post. Hence the refresh fixing things.

I can't explain this one. My only theory is that the new SVG (vector) format pieces might be pushing the limits of some mobile devices a little too hard. If it is reproducible, can you please try setting a bitmap piece set ("Staunton", for example), and see if the same occurs? Unlikely to be the case, but it is possible.

I'll get this fixed.

This has now been fixed so navigation is directly below the board, as on the production site right now.

Much better.
Also seems to have solved the jerky finger-scrolling on mobile (or maybe the coffee I had has worn off now).

Haven't happened since so hopefully whatever it was fixed itself.

Still think the chat feature could be improved on a mobile, a lot (slight exaggeration) more clicks involved than the main site.

The mysterious promotion issue has now been identified, and I have a fix waiting to go up.

The issue was caused by promoting a pawn whilst using a "click and click" move, rather than the more common "drag and drop". This issue, that caused me 'great anguish' 🙂 , and it was so stupidly simple to reproduce in the end.

Thanks to everyone who helped trying to figure this one out!

edit : Now uploaded, along with some other fixes related to viewing the game log of set piece games, and starting a set piece game.

There is still one minor issue I need to look at - attempting to move the same piece twice in game analysis is prevented unless you click elsewhere first. This wasn't the intended behavior.

The fix has now been fixed.
