@The-only-Mr-T saidHave you turned off "Compact Captured Material?" from the board settings?
Another minor but slightly annoying thing is the pieces taken overlapping with each other on the smaller screen.
re : in game chat,
I've now removed the chat bubble side avatar on the messages when on mobile, which makes better use of available space.
If I then make the expand option go to 100%, then there is nowhere else to go with this.
@Very-Rusty saidI made this promotion in the end on behalf of VR with near identical set up (browser) and had no issue. The mystery remains...π€
Russ,
I sent you a game where I wasn't able to make a promotion in the Beta Testing. I will leave it until you have a chance to look at it. Keep in mind I am on the clock! π
I sent you the link, but here it is again.

@Russ saidI will try again next time I am able to promote a pawn. I click on the piece I want usually a queen and hit submit. It doesn't show up to promote like in our Main Site we are using now.

@Very-Rusty saidIf you have a problem again, refer to the video I sent you earlier, and let me know what happens differently. Thanks!

@Russ
Why does the spell checker in thread chat boxes always replace Capablanca with Casablanca? (There, it did it again! I had to go back and manually re-type Capablanca!) (((There, it did it again! I had to go back and manually re-type Capablanca!))
Grrrrrrr π
@moonbus saidNothing to do with me this time! Blame the spell checker.

@The-only-Mr-T saidThis has been fixed.
It starts with the end of the message, so need to scroll up to see it from the start.
The default behaviour described somewhere above can be overridden. The cursor still goes to the input though, so you can type right away, and it will probably scroll down at that point.
@The-only-Mr-T saidSee my above comment about changing the way the captured material is displayed, but I have noticed there are some other text "wrapping" issues when simulating your device. It does seem to have a very narrow display and would need to be catered for specifically to prevent it.

A new update is now on beta which fixes a couple more minor things not reported, but also removes lots of debug stuff that you may have seen if you had been poking around in your browser dev console, in preparation for a final release candidate.
Two things remain - making sure everyone is satisfied with the chat changes, and being confident there is not a subtle bug in the promotion code.
@Russ saidYeah that did the trick, not that I ever look at that, just noticed it looked different. Maybe an option to remove that entirely?

I think 100% of the screen for messages when expanded wouldn't do any harm.
Any plans on making the board the same size as the main site? We lasted 20 odd years without having numbered and lettered squares π
@The-only-Mr-T saidRegarding small board - can you send me a screenshot? I'll DM you an email.

The board with inset coordinates should give you a bigger board than the current board with external coordinates? Perhaps you had them turned off all these years..? In which case, the size should be approx the same.
@Russ saidAw it was so simple. That did the trick, the board is the same size as the main site now. I never had the coordinates on the board. Thought it was a new thing.

@The-only-Mr-T
It always seems to be the simple things we miss as we are looking for a more difficult way, I do it all the time.
