Okay, so god puts us on this earth, plays around with plagues and smiting people and stuff, and then disappears for 2000 years or so.
But he still expects us to believe in him.
He has given us brains that question the world and universe around us, and he has fueled these brains with much evidence to suggest that he doesn't exist.
But he still expects us to believe in him.

Man, that's just cruel
Maybe He gave us brains and we choose to ignore Him? Perhaps He has given enough already that would compel someone to believe He created it in the first place. Like the wonders all around you.

In Buddhism the four noble truths say that to end suffering we must loose desire and attachment to material things.

I believe that this is what Jesus refers to when he says not to store up our treasures on earth but rather in Heaven; also, seek God first and all other things will be added unto us.

Where did you hear God say that?
When someone says take my hand or you will drowned, does offering
the help mean your evil because they must accept it as offered or die?

IMHO, it is if they try to charge you for the service.

Cruel is sending things into other people ...[text shortened]...

Is it cruel to demand that a father sacrifice his son for reasons other than crops? e.g. Genesis 22:1-12.

I have yet to see any solid evidence saying the Flying Spaghetti Monster doesn't exist. Or Muffy. Or a bluespotted dog with horns and wings.
Open your eyes and see the many miracles he still works today they are proof enough in his existence

And jimmyb270 said that God gave us evidence he didn't exist; I simply haven't seen any examples of this evidence

And unlike God there is no evidence to support your Flying Spaghetti Monster

Besides there are dogs named Muffy.

Wrong,

All evil is because people listen to satan's lies.
And just how long has Satan been talking to you personally ?
I have known several Satanists but none have risen to such a level as to receive personal communications as you claim.
Do you receive messages from any other lifeforms, and if you do, do they keep telling you to do evil things ?

Suppose I lose all attachment to material things. If you then sever my particulars with a rusty knife, will I therefore not suffer?

God however wants what’s best for us, and fallowing his laws only increases the quality of life
Calvinists believe that God predestines most people to everlasting torment in hell, whatever they do in this life, because it pleases him to do so, and being God, he can do what he likes.

This makes the rapist look like an amateur.

Believe it or not, there are those who can control their pain. There are documented, verifiable medical cases where surgery was performed on patients with no anesthetic.

In regards to the attachment to material things, I think this is more about our spiritual suffering. We never find lasting happiness/satisfaction in material things, so ending our suffering happens when we loose our attachment to material things.

Why desire the finite when we are eternal?

…or something like that. Ask a Buddhist.

Edit: This by the way is what Jesus refers to when he says to store up our treasures in Heaven instead of on earth, and also when he tells us to seek first the kingdom of God and all things shall be added unto us.

True, but the thing is Jesus paid your debt in full, if you are concern
about man attempting to make a buck off you, well that will be
true no matter what, man is like that.

I call them amoral, neither good or evil, they are no more good
or evil than a piece of grass is or a water drop.
